It gives us a great pleasure to introduce the new Gurukumo dashboard. Our aim to to ensure that you have the best user experience. The first objective behind this design was to give you the most happening events in your course in the first look. The Status Updates and Activity History just ensure this.

Use your YouTube Videos to deliver courses

Gurukumo now has a powerful capability that allows course providers to use the YouTube videos in their course material. For achieving this, follow the simple steps listed below:

  1. First upload your video to YouTube
  2. Once the video is uploaded, click “Share” and you will see the Embed button
  3. Click on the “Embed” button, you will see a piece of code in a text box that you need to copy using “Ctrl C”
  4. As a test, we have copied the code generated in YouTube for the video available on the Gurukumo Channel http://www.youtube.com/gurukumo/ The embed code sample for the example is pasted below:

On GURUKUMO (http://www.gurukumo.com/)

  1. You can use any video of your choice, provided you have permissions to use them and it is something relevant in your course.
  2. Now log in as a course provider at http://www.gurukumo.com
  3. Click COURSE BUILDER
  4. Click TEXT CONTENT
  5. Create a new Text Content by clicking ADD TEXT CONTENT or use an existing text content by clicking EDIT icon in the Action column of the Text Content name
  6. In the Text Content page paste the above code or the code for the video which is generated on YouTube inline with the text
  7. Save the Text Content
  8. If the Text Content is part of an existing Lesson, go to Lesson and click view. Otherwise, create a new lesson with this text content.
  9. You will see the video inline inside your course.

A week after beta – thanks for the feedback

We are a week into the release of LMS beta. Your response has been quite encouraging and we thank you for creating your own learning management system accounts. Gurukumo thanks all those who have provided feedback on features and submitted new change requests using the support tickets. It also gave us an opportunity to test our ticket based remote customer support model and validate our steps to deliver you high quality customer service. Our goal is to always be give the most modern features to our customers. We look forward to working closely with you to provide the best products and services.

A Major Milestone at Gurukumo

Today April 15th 2011, marks the first major milestone for Gurukumo – The Gurukumo Learning Management System (LMS) is Beta today. It is the result of the efforts of a highly performing team which overcame several stringent tests to translate an idea into reality. This beta involved lots of additional tasks like establishing business entity, branding, regulatory requirements, technical infrastructure, technology, outsourcing, understanding business environment and products, pricing, legal, accounting and taxation to name a few of them. Neither did scarcity of resources nor lack of prior exposure dampen the spirit. What triumphed were the enthusiasm, persistence, hard work, faith in the idea, confidence in the products and determination to deliver no matter what the odds were.

About Gurukumo Logo

Creating logo for Gurukumo was a creative exercise. We needed something creative to relate the name ‘GURUKUMO’ which means ‘GURU on the CLOUDS’. The name represents us as an innovative company. The word ‘Gurukumo’ is our own creation. After a lot of design research, the image below was approved as the logo.

Gurukumo Inc. was established on 6th Oct, 2010 at with Division of Corporations, Department of State, Delaware, USA as a Corporation. The name Gurukumo means ‘GURU On The Clouds’. This name was creatively coined by the founders to signify the novelty in nature of work being done in the company. Gurukumo is privately funded, and is based in Andover, MA, USA.

The last year has been a great run at SNIT Consulting Inc. We began with a vision to provide something unique to customers in a very matured yet evolving education industry that is rapidly growing, especially in the developing world.
